Flathead Valley in Canada
The end of July, the International League of Conservation Photographers conducted a Rapid Assessment Visual Expediton (RAVE) in the transboundary Flathead. The League sent a cadre of eight internationally-known photographers to the Flathead. The purpose of the two-week camp out was to visually document this threatened spectacular area which is currently under the gun by mountain-top-removal coal mining and coal bed methane development.

Results of the RAVE are beginning to come out now and spectacular is a poor description for some of the stunning photographs.
You can now see the photographs that have been posted in the gallery here. You can also listen to Voices From The Campsite.
Take a few minutes and see what the Flathead looked like back in the day. We covered this before, so I’ll just back off and let you peruse the wonders on your own.
