28-19, Disappointment

Damn! SB425, the Walleye Welfare Act, passed it’s second reading this afternoon 28-19 in the Senate. All is not lost. Third reading is tomorrow so contact your senators quickly. The Senate seems to be stacked against us on this one. Maybe we will have better luck when it moves to the House, which isn’t quite so red. Dave Wanzenried (D) Missoula,  spoke very well in opposition to the bill, maybe some of the senators will have second thoughts before tomorrow. Just in case, contact your senator and let him/her know that this is a very bad bill.

(UPDATE 03/06/2009: SB425 passed a third reading in the Senate 30-20 today and has been transmitted to the House. Sharpen your pens. We still have a shot at stopping this one.)
